| Rationale | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| As the living standard in Lhasa city steadily increases, so has the demand for meat in the diets of its citizens. The increased demand has exceeded the meat production capacity in the area. This project will improve pasturing technology and build a sheep raising base around Lhasa city. Natural and newly developed areas in the outskirts of Lhasa city will be reasonably and sustainably utilized for both forage production and pasturing. This will meet the demand for meat, promote development of the local husbandry economy, and improve Tibetan living standards. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
