PECC CHINESE COMMITTEE FOR FINANCIAL MARKETS DEVELOPMENT

The Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) is a non-governmental organization composed of officials, academics and business people in the Pacific region. Its 22 member committees represent the economies of Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the United States, Vietnam and Columbia.

At the PECC conference in June 1994 in Shanghai, PECC members were required to set up national committees for financial markets development to promote the PECC financial market development program, financial cooperation and exchange between Pacific countries and regions. The PECC Chinese Committee for Financial Markets Development (CCFMD) was established on January 9, 1995 with the approval of relevant authorities and CEMC was entrusted to act as CCFMD's secretariat.
