the Second Round China SCP Promotional Project (China SCP Ⅱ )

The systematic environment management approach and process addressed by Sustainable City Program(SCP) are strongly related to current existing problems regarding implementation of local agenda 21 in China . In aspects of strengthening governmental trans-sector cooperation and partnership between government and social bodies to jointly tackle city environmental issues, SCP has strong realistic significance in guiding local SD actions. Through implementation of SCP, municipalities could expect to further promote their capability of scientific policy-making and overall raise the awareness of all involved stakeholders in process of city's SD.

The planned output of China SCP Ⅱ is a set of localized and developed SCP approaches and models which will be demonstrated to the wider area of China by providing policy, technology, and experience support. Based on the effective implementation of the China SCP Ⅱ, this project is expected to help China achieve the national goal of sustainable development at city level.
